One of the guru tips for growing on X is the following:
Build in public.
The idea is to build your audience and presence by sharing your progress. People, who are behind you on this journey, will follow you because it helps them. Sharing your progress publicly helps you stay committed to your plan. When you master your skill, you will already have a following. It’s doing more than one thing at the same time. In a good way.
You can do the same with mindfulness.
Build mindfulness in public.
Talk about your journey. You can do this in multiple ways.
1. Make your X account around building in public. Just this time, it’s building mindfulness. Connect with the mindful crowd online and talk about your insights. I’m happy about each person I can share this journey to less suffering with. The best part, maybe this will help others as well. When you give away, you receive. This is also true for spiritual insights and wisdom.
2. Share your mindful moments with those close. When you notice something let other people know. Some words of caution: Don’t do this from a place of superiority. Don’t teach people who don’t want to be taught. Don’t condemn or judge. You can discern differences between people, but sometimes it’s not kind to tell them. But often, you can share compliments, be grateful, or just notice something about other people. This can build valuable connections.
3. Write about your progress. Keep an offline diary about the insights you have, what you’re grateful for, and so on.
4. Build a community. You can either join a local class or community or find communities online. It’s an easy way to stay committed and share your progress. I recently created a 21-day challenge (are you doing it right now? If so, let me know how it goes), but I’m planning on creating a channel that supports this challenge live. A daily commitment to meditate at a certain time, where you can share your insights with like-minded people. Can be useful for beginners and intermediates.
5. Even if you solely practice mindfulness on your own, the world will benefit. No action or thought ever is wasted.
Let me know what you think of these ways to build mindfulness in public.
Have a great day, David
